Is DIYer really free?
Yes. DIYer is completely free. You can create unlimited projects, upload media, connect with other makers, and use all features without cost.
How do I upload my first project?
Once logged in, click the "+" button in the navigation bar and select "Project". Follow the step-by-step wizard to publish your project.
Projects and Content
What types of projects can I share?
Any DIY project. Woodworking, electronics, crafts, home improvement, upcycling, gardening, 3D printing, sewing, and more.
Can I edit my projects after publishing?
Yes. If you are the project owner, you will see an Edit Project button on your project page.
How many photos or videos can I upload per project?
Upload as many as you need to fully showcase your project. Each file should be under 50MB for optimal performance.
Can I save other people's projects?
Yes. Click the bookmark icon on any project to save it for later. Access saved projects from your profile.
Profile and Privacy
How do I make my profile private?
Go to Settings and toggle "Public Profile" off. When private, only you and approved followers can see your posts, projects, and private network lists.
Can I change my username?
Yes. Go to Settings and update your username. DIYer checks availability in real time.
How do I delete my account?
In Settings, scroll to the "Danger Zone" section and click "Delete Account". Follow the confirmation steps.
Community and Engagement
How do comments work?
DIYer supports threaded comments. Click Reply under any comment to respond directly to it.
Can I follow other makers?
Yes. Visit any user profile and click Follow. Their new projects will appear in your feed.
What happens when someone likes my project?
You will receive a notification. You can see engagement metrics on your project page and profile stats.
Technical Issues
My images will not upload. What should I do?
Make sure files are under 50MB and in a supported format (JPG, PNG, GIF). Try a different browser or clear cache.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Click "Forgot Password?" on the login page. Enter your email and we will send a reset link.
The site is not working properly. What should I do?
Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache. Use the latest Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
